All Saints Church Collie

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

All Saints Church Collie

Enjoy a fascinating tour of the prominent Collie landmark, All Saints Church Collie. Discover the intricate detail of the historic church’s interior and examine the 17th-century brass candlesticks and altar crucifix. You will be captivated by the image painted on a large mural in the Sanctuary, which took eight months to paint back in 1922. Built in the early 1900s, this spectacular landmark was funded by a generous benefactress from England who paid tribute to her late husband Colonel Arthur Noyes, who died in 1908. She funded much of the cost of building the church as well as donating many significant artefacts. Take a tour to also explore the exterior of the church to examine the architectural design of this Norman-style place of worship. A gold coin donation is requested to participate in the tour. The coal mining town of Collie is a 2.5-hour drive southeast of Perth. Before visiting the church, stop in at the Collie Visitors Centre to collect a comprehensive information sheet describing the history of the church and the story depicted in the mural.

Alligator / Crocodile Hole

Natural Attractions

Alligator / Crocodile Hole

Alligator Hole is a salt water crocodile habitat where you can see the mighty ‘Salty’ at home in the wild. Witness these fascinating prehistoric creatures basking in the sun along the sand banks or lazing in the cool waters with their head just visible on the water’s surface. It was officially named back in the early days when the crocodiles in the area were mistaken for alligators. These days the billabong is more commonly known as Crocodile Hole. Whilst the water may look enticing, swimming is strongly discouraged. Please also note that there is no free camping in the shire of Wyndham and East Kimberley and camping is not recommended in the area. The track to get out to Crocodile Hole takes you along the Old Halls Creek Road. Originally built by prisoners, this track was used by gold miners in the late 1800s to push their carts to the goldfields. Crocodile Hole is a 1 hour drive from Kununurra or a 30-minute drive south east of Wyndham. Flights from Perth to Kununurra take 3 hours. Please visit Kununurra Visitor Centre for direction and more information prior to travelling to the area. A four-wheel drive is required to access The Old Halls Creek Road and definitely, NO SWIMMING!

Alma Park

Established during the 1880s, Alma Park received its name in 1893 when local school children assembled to plant one hundred trees within its grounds. The first tree was planted by Alma O'Connor, daughter of the Mayor, Alderman O'Connor, and the park now bears her name in remembrance of the occasion. In springtime, brightly coloured flower beds complement the many grand old trees planted by Alma and her friends so many years ago. A meandering pathway leads visitors past a locally forged iron lace rotunda and down to the picturesque Uralla Creek where an ageing footbridge beckons walkers to continue on to the slightly more challenging walk around nearby Mount Mutton. Alma Park is a peaceful and relaxing place to stop for a break with plenty of room for caravan and campervan parking. Facilities in the park include toilets, a children's playground, Liberty Swing and two free electric barbecues.

Alpaca Magic

Alpaca Magic Stud began in 1997 with just a couple of alpacas. Not long after they bought some llamas and began their Llama Magic Stud. They were one of the first Llama Studs in NSW, and are now one of the largest llama breeders in Australia. They have around 100 llamas and 100 alpacas, as well as miniature and small English Donkeys and miniature Galloway Cows. Located just 20 minutes north of Canberra, with easy access and parking, providing one of a kind animal encounters. Unlike many other farms, the events take you up close and personal with the animals. Rather than just feeding them over a fence, you’ll be right in amongst them - close enough for cuddles and selfies. Visitation is by event booking only. They host a range of events every weekend, from Llama Experience (walk a llama) to Conversation with Cows, so there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.

Alpha Murals

Alpha is home to 27 murals, each telling a unique story of rural life in the region. The mural tradition began in 1991 when a group of local artists painted their first wall, and since then, the murals have become a focal point for the town, adorning most public buildings. The largest mural in Alpha can be found on the Railway Goods Shed. Commissioned by Queensland Rail, it pays tribute to the vital role the railway played in the district's development. Without the navvies and settlers who carved their way through the land in the 1880s, along with the steam trains of yesteryear, Alpha would not exist. Today, Alpha is no longer the bustling railway town it once was, with only a fraction of its former workforce remaining. The newest mural, a striking depiction of a man on horseback riding into the sunset, was generously painted by a Grey Nomad.

Alpine Breath

Sometimes a change of scenery is not quite enough to properly unwind. Alpine Breath offers group breathwork sessions in Bright, Victoria — a guided experience for anyone looking to truly reset and feel more like themselves. Breathwork is the practice of breathing intentionally using techniques that directly change how the body and mind feel. It sits alongside mindfulness and relaxation practices, but tends to produce results faster. No meditation experience or special knowledge needed. Just come as you are. Two session types are available on a regular basis. Restore is built around slower, extended breathing for deep calm and nervous system rest — the kind of stillness that is hard to find when actively trying to find it. Reset uses dynamic breathing patterns to shake off tension and reconnect with the body. Both are suitable for complete beginners. Breath is led by certified facilitator Stefaan White, who brings a background in science and fitness coaching to every session.
