Discover the beauty of the Box-Ironbark forest on the Springtime Flower Walk, a relaxed and family-friendly loop trail showcasing one of the region's most vibrant natural displays. This gentle walk winds through native bushland rich in birdlife, offering plenty of opportunities for wildlife spotting and peaceful immersion in nature. In spring the forest floor transforms into a colourful carpet of wildflowers, making it an especially rewarding experience for walkers, photographers and nature lovers alike. Located just 20 minutes from Wangaratta, the Boorhaman Golf Club features a scenic nine-hole FootGolf course that runs within the traditional golf course, providing a fun and engaging experience for all ages and skill levels. FootGolf is played similarly to golf, but instead of using clubs and golf balls, players use their feet to kick a soccer ball into larger cups set up on each hole. The objective is to complete the course with as few kicks as possible, making it a perfect activity for families, friends, and sports enthusiasts looking for a new challenge. While FootGolf is relatively new in Australia, it has gained immense popularity in Europe, where it is celebrated for its accessibility and enjoyment. Boorhaman FootGolf stands out as one of the few places in Australia where you can experience this innovative sport, making it a must-visit destination for tourists seeking unique recreational activities.

North Wangaratta Hall

The North Wangaratta Public Hall, Beechworth Junction as it was known, is situated on the north-western side of the main railway line at Bowser, on the corner of Depot Road. Depot Road was originally the beginning of the Three Chain Road to Corowa with the rail crossing being situated closer to the Bowser railway station. The crossing has since been moved north to where Federation Way starts today. With the settlement of North Wangaratta growing, the farming and small industry expanding, the local community saw the need to establish a community hall to cater for their social needs. The Hall was built at a cost of around 220 pounds and opened in 1911. It had corrugated tin walls and roof and no lining, so was very cold on a frosty night. The floor was beautiful jarrah and wooden stools surrounded the side walls. Children loved to slide from one end of the hall to the other. In the main part of the hall, there were two large Miller kerosene lights with large chimneys. A stage was at one end. A committee was appointed and was involved in the care and maintenance of the building and hence, the hall became the centre of district life.

The Bush Tucker Garden is approximately 1.8 kilometres from the start of the Bullawah Cultural Trail in Apex Park Wangaratta. King George V Gardens

The King George Gardens are a pleasant respite in the centre of the city. Located on Ovens Street between Templeton and Rowan Streets in the heart of Wangaratta, the King George V Memorial Gardens are a wonderful central green expanse equipped with a children's playground. There are picnic tables, toilets and plenty of trees to shelter under. Use of the area dates back to the 1850's when it was first used to hold horses for the local police constabulary. In 1864 the area hosted market sales and stockyards were also erected. The large Plane Trees which still dominate the park were planted around this time to provide shelter from the often extreme temperature. The gardens were officially formed in 1938.
