The historic church was completed in 1892 and styled after the medieval Anglo-Saxon churches of 13th-century Britain. The tower of this architectural style was built as a defensive structure - enabling inhabitants a high lookout point that was an easily defensible position to ward off attacks.
The church houses a pipe organ containing 665 pipes built in 1904. Take a stroll through history and experience a modern (1900) nod to medieval Britain.
The church is open daily and visitors are welcome at all times. During winter months, the west door is closed and entry to the church is by the north porch.

This is bushwalking at its best for those with a keen sense of adventure. Threading through a diverse range of environments – grassy woodland, wet gullies, montane forest and grassland at the top – you’re exposed to a terrific cross-section of what makes Budawang National Park wilderness. The ascent is about 430m up a steep-sided mountain range, but the scenic views from Mount Budawang are tremendous, with 360-degree views of the surrounding area. To the north, along the Budawang Range, are the Castle and Pigeon House Mountain Didthul. To the east are Durras Mountain and the NSW coast. Down below is the forested Clyde River valley, and further afield west you can see all the way to Braidwood’s Mount Gillamatong.
If you're looking for a quiet place to get back to nature, you'll love Mongarlowe River picnic area. Nestled under the shade of eucalypt forest in the heart of the park, this sheltered area is an ideal place to begin exploring Monga's rich habitats.
Enjoy lunch at one of the picnic tables before taking an easy stroll along Waratah walking track to the gently flowing Mongarlowe River. Unwind to the soothing sounds of the water flowing and keep your eyes peeled for platypus swimming in the river.
In October and November, the distinctive bright red Monga and Gippsland waratahs flower, attracting birds and insects that feed on the sweet nectar, making this a fantastic spot for birdwatching.

Spend the day horse riding and walking in the footsteps of European settlers and Aboriginal tribes on the historic Corn Trail walking track. Or enjoy a picnic along the banks of Mongarlowe River, as you watch the local wildlife and admire the unique Monga waratahs in flower.
As you explore the park, you'll disccover cool temperate rainforest filled with ancient plumwood trees from the Gondwana Age, warm temperate rainforests and old growth eucalypt forests.
