The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection

Harvey Galleries presents The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection proudly supported by Art Evolution and d'Arenberg. For over 60 years, Dr. Seuss's illustrations have brought a visual realization to his fantastic and imaginary worlds. His artistic talent went far beyond the printed page and yet, to this day, his Secret Art Collection is virtually unknown to the general public. Throughout his lifetime, Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) created paintings and sculpture, which he secreted away at the Dr. Seuss Estate. Featuring known and unknown works from the life of Theodor Seuss Geisel. A fascinating archive that reveals the secret art and imaginative creations of the world's most beloved children's author. Works from Dr. Seuss's best-known children's books, The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss, and perhaps the wackiest and most wonderful elements of the collection are Dr. Seuss's three-dimensional "Unorthodox Taxidermy" sculptures. Artworks will be on display and available for acquisition.

Landmarks and Buildings

Hastwell & Lightfoot Cellar Door

Hastwell & Lightfoot (H&L) is one of McLaren Vale’s most exciting small-batch, family-owned and operated winegrowers. Since planting their 16 hectares of vines in the deep sands of McLaren Vale’s Foggo Road in 1988, they have been leaders in crafting wines from Mediterranean varieties like Fiano, Vermentino, Tempranillo, Barbera, and more! People love H&L wines because they are fresh and vibrant. Their house style is defined by fruit-forward wines with lively acidity, smooth tannins, and modest use of oak — all attributes which make their wines pair so easily with food. Enjoy their award-winning McLaren Vale wines and generous hospitality at the H&L Cellar Door in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Take in the views of the vines as you unwind on the front deck with a wine flight and one of ‘SA’s Best Platters’ (as awarded by Adelady) or settle in on one of the Chesterfield by the fire – you could definitely spend an afternoon here. McLaren Vale Cellar Door Tree Trail

There are many reasons why the world need trees, the biggest plants on our planet. Trees give oxygen and they absorb carbon dioxide and gases that could be harmful. Trees can also lower temperatures by providing shade and they can reduce soil erosion. As well as all the ways they benefit us, trees also provide food and habitat for wildlife, including birds, reptiles, mammals and insects. To celebrate trees and their importance in the region and the wine industry, Maclaren Vake has created a unique McLaren Vale tree trail where you will find interesting information on a variety of trees. So come and have a look at some of the 54 beautiful trees that compose the tree trails at participating Cellar Doors with more to be announced soon!
