My Dead Grandpa

My Dead Grandpa is one of Adelaide's most unique vintage shopping destinations, located in a repurposed car park in the heart of the CBD. Part retail space, part cultural experience, it brings together over 50 independent sellers under one roof. Inside, you'll find a constantly rotating mix of vintage clothing, vinyl records, furniture, collectibles, and pop culture pieces from the 1970s through to the early 2000s. From band tees and AFL memorabilia to retro cameras and rare sneakers, My Dead Grandpa has become a go to for those searching for vintage clothes in Adelaide and a more immersive alternative to traditional retail. What began as a backyard project has grown into a nationally recognised vintage warehouse, known for its scale, energy, and ever changing stock. Visitors come for the experience as much as the product. Every visit offers something different, with new pieces arriving weekly and no two stalls the same. Set against raw concrete, graffiti walls, and an industrial fit out, the space reflects Adelaide's creative edge while staying grounded in authenticity and sustainability. Whether you're planning a day in the city, exploring Adelaide vintage shopping, or simply looking for something unexpected, My Dead Grandpa is a standout stop in the CBD.

Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga

Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga is the largest of the six squares and the centrepiece of Light's plan, originally named 'the Great Square' by him. Covering eight acres, Light imagined that it would become the commercial hub for the settlement. In the Northern end of the square, the State Survey mark today commemorates the commencement of Light's survey on 11 January 1837. The statue of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) that stands in the centre of the square was cast in bronze made from copper mined in the South Australian towns of Wallaroo and Moonta. Tarntanyangga means 'Red Kangaroo Dreaming. Tandanya (or tarntanya) was the dundagunya community's central camp, and located where the current square sits today. Today the square is host to many events including Tasting Australia and the Tour Down Under Village. Features: Dog on-leash area Water fountain
