There are two beautiful ocean pools in Kiama and this one is the smaller of the two sitting on the edge of the ocean. It is a great place for the whole family to enjoy. Spectacularly situated on the north side of Blowhole Point with access from the harbour road, there is ample parking, amenities and change rooms on site.
The pool is an irregular shape with variable depth and natural rock floor. There is a shallow wading area suitable for young children off to the side.

Located on Blowhole Point, the Kiama Lighthouse is hard to miss.
Established in 1887, 10 years after the creation of the Robertson Basin, the man-made Kiama Harbour, the lighthouse sits 36.5 metres above sea level.
The Principal Keeper's House was destroyed by vandals in the 1920s. However, the single storey Assistant Keeper's House, used for many years as a residence for harbour pilots, is now the Pilots' Cottage Museum.
There is no access available to the inside of the lighthouse.
Kiama’s Black Beach gets its name (and colour) from the black basalt sand and cobbles that line its shore. Although less popular with swimmers than with snorkelers, the ocean pools on either side of Black Beach are both beautiful places to enjoy a saltwater swim. Spend a while relaxing on the sprawling grass of Black Beach Reserve, or test your skills on the stunning granite ping-pong table.
Conveniently situated between Kiama Harbour and the centre of town, Black Beach also hosts some of Kiama’s most well-known events, including the markets held on the third Sunday and fourth Sunday of the month.
Nearby points of interest include the historic Kiama Post Office (constructed in 1878), and a memorial to the SS Bombo, a now-popular dive site that departed here for the final time on 24 February 1949.

Every so often, nature likes to show off, and Kiama Blowhole is the perfect place to see it.
Kiama's famous Blowhole is the largest in the world, and when the swell is running from the southeast, you're in for a real treat. The 2.5 metres opening in the rock face has had its plumes of water recorded at heights of over 30 metres!
With multiple accessible viewing platforms, the blowhole can be seen from multiple vantage points, be sure to check out the most eastern point to take in the full height of the rock formation.
This landmark has attracted people to the region for over 100 years, and the first sightings were recorded by George Bass when he anchored his whaleboat in the sheltered bay, now known as Kiama Harbour, in December 1797. It is now estimated to attract 1,300,000 visitors each year.
Only a short distance from the town centre and railway station, the Kiama Blowhole has picnic and parking areas, with a rock pool nearby. Public toilets are always open, and there is a cafe located next to the Kiama Visitor Information Centre.

The arch, originally to commemorate those who served in World War One, was unveiled by Sir George Fuller, Premier of NSW, on April 25 1925.
The arch now stands for all those who have served, with the Kiama/Jamberoo RSL sub-branch working to update the honour rolls on the War Memorial Arch to recognise the region’s servicemen and women who have been involved in more recent conflicts or peace-keeping operations including Korea, Malaya, Vietnam, Somalia, East Timor, Bougainville, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Gordon Grellman Wall of Remembrance, constructed adjacent to Kiama’s War Memorial Arch in Terralong Street, was unveiled by Mayor Brian Petschler on 11 November 2013. Relatives of deceased veterans can request their service to country be recognised on the memorial wall, regardless of where they lived when they enlisted or where they were born.
The wall, named after WWII pilot and former Kiama/Jamberoo RSL sub-branch member Gordon Grellman, is believed to be the only one of its kind in Australia.

With the cliff face right by this pool and to the north, it gets lots of shade, so if you’re looking for a shady and safe swim in summer, this is a good bet, though once you’re beyond the summer months, it also means this pool feels a lot colder.
Amenities are available with child changing facilities. Parking is available on Shoalhaven Street.
