Riverview walking track

This gentle walk along the plateau gives a terrific taste of the famous Bundanoon Gullies. Starting at Riverview lookout and picnic area, follow the flat track as it threads through native trees and open grassland. The track then descends into Ferntree Gully, a cool retreat that lives up to its name, with numerous ferns and spring wildflowers like purple geebungs and prickly hakeas.   The track ascends out of the gully and finishes at the amphitheatre carpark, but it’s easy to retrace your steps from there, perhaps taking time on the return trip to appreciate the many native birds in the area – Ferntree Gully is terrific for birdwatching. Once you’ve taken in the view at Riverview lookout, settle down for a picnic lunch, or consider connecting the track with several others in the area to make up a full afternoon of walking. Nicholas Pass walking track is particularly good, and connects with Riverview walking track at the amphitheatre.

Although not a bushwalk for the faint of heart, Tooth's walking track to Bundanoon Creek offers great rewards for those who are fit and don’t mind a steep climb. The walking track begins at Tooths lookout, with its spectacular scenic views of the valley, and descends steeply towards Bundanoon Creek. As you get closer to the creek, you may see reptiles lying across the track and, during spring, wildflowers blooming nearby. Lovers Walking Track

Connecting Echo Point picnic area with Bonnie View, this easy walking track offers a quiet 750 metre stroll through open forest, with scenic views as a reward at either end. Beginning behind the Echo Point picnic shelter, the track blooms in spring with beautiful wildflowers like yellow banksia and purple geebungs. It also offers a terrific place for native birdwatching at any time of year – gang gang cockatoos are particularly beautiful. Given the picnic facilities at Echo Point, consider setting out on Lovers walking track after a leisurely lunch, and then taking advantage of several nearby walks to extend the afternoon hike even further. After reaching Bonnie View, you can return to Echo Point via the gravel road and wishing well, stretching the circuit out to an hour. You might also like to join the walk with a stroll in the opposite direction, descending through the sandstone escarpment at Echo Point on Mount Carnarvon walking track, which leads to a lesser-visited hilltop lookout.

Mount Carnarvon Walking Track

Mount Carnarvon walking track connects Echo Point picnic area with an isolated hilltop lookout, offering terrific birdwatching and a place to have lunch afterwards. The view from Echo Point picnic area is memorable in its own right, but for something even more secluded, follow a track south from the picnic area as it descends through an interesting cliff line down some stairs. These are carved directly out of the old rock. The track then climbs gently to the isolated hilltop of Mount Carnarvon, with its own unique lookout, offering yet another vantage point over Morton National Park. This is a terrific spot for birdwatching, given the park’s staggering variety of native species: birds of prey circle the lookout during the day, and owls frequent the area at night. It’s also a great place to appreciate the heathland flowers during spring, with black drumsticks, yellow banksia, purple geebungs and prickly hakeas sighted in the area. After taking your fill of the scenic vista, retrace your steps up the sandstone escarpment, then consider breaking for a picnic lunch at Echo Point.

Bonnie View and Beauchamps Cliffs lookouts

Bonnie View lookout is slightly lower than Beauchamp Cliffs lookout. You'll want to experience both for their unique vantage points. Enjoy a picnic at Echo Point picnic area and then set out along Lovers walking track. It's only 750m from the picnic area to Bonnie View lookout, and then a further 100m on to Beauchamps Cliffs lookout. If you're riding Bundanoon cycling route it's an easy detour to both lookouts. The lookouts are wonderful to visit all year round, but during spring the bush lights up with wildflowers. Keep an eye out for pink and purple boronias, mountain devils, drumsticks and fuchsias. You might come across lyrebirds at any time of the day. Digging along the edge of these tracks is one of their favourite things to do. You could even catch sight of a silent wallaby. If you're a birdwatcher, plan to visit early in the morning or in the late afternoon. These are the best times for spotting a variety of woodland birds. Can you see Bundanoon Creek way down there, winding through the forest at the foot of the escarpment? Bring your camera to take photos of these incredible views.

Moss Vale Golf Course is a golfers paradise in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales and is regarded as one of the most scenic and challenging courses in regional NSW. Avenues of mature pines, elms, gums and vividly coloured claret ash flank the winding course which was completed in its current layout in 1936. The 18 Hole Championship Golf Course is a par 71, and 5805 metres from the men's tees, Par 73 and 5300 metres from the women's tees.
