Bluey's World

Step into Bluey's world - for real life. Let's do this kiddos! Embark on a brand-new immersive journey with Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad in their beloved home, backyard and beyond. Explore your favourite rooms, play interactive games, and keep your eyes peeled for surprises around every corner...and maybe even a Longdog or two! As you arrive at the Heeler family's Brisbane cul-de-sac watch out for those pesky bin chickens. Then enter their colourful Queenslander house, where you are invited to live and play like Bluey. Follow the hallway to the living room and meet your guide who will join you on this very special adventure. Discover Bluey and Bingo's epic giant cubby. Crawl, climb and walk (funny walks encouraged) your way through the various cubby rooms. Explore the girls' bedroom from the stained-glass window to the watermelon rug. Then play games and make good times in the fun and vibrant playroom. See what's cooking in the Heeler's kitchen; and decorate a pavlova like Bluey. But hold the edamame beans please. Venture out to the backyard for maximum play time around the poinciana tree. But wait...what's going on in Dad's shed? Look inside as more surprises await. Finish your day in Bluey's Brisbane neighbourhood, complete with takeaway shop, playground, gift shop and much more.

Thoroughbred Racing Museum and Archives

Set in the heritage listed Old Tote building on Eagle Farm racecourse, the Racing Museum offers a journey through history. At the centre is the award-winning Julius Totalisator, a unique piece of engineering claimed to be the forerunner of the computer. Photos, paintings, trophies, jockeys’ silks, memorabilia and stories of racing’s great champions are on display. Renowned owners, trainers, jockeys, bookmakers and patrons of racing are remembered through the displays. Guests can also discover the link between the racing industry and Queensland’s social and economic development. Walk through the same gates that the US servicemen used during World War II as they entered Camp Ascot in the years the military authorities took over the racecourse. The Archive at nearby Doomben racecourse is the working hub of the Thoroughbred Racing History Association. Borrow from the library, browse through old documents, magazines and records. A must see is The Stanley Room which houses the collection of Bill and Evelyn Stanley, well known owners in the industry. Both attractions can be reached by rail, bus or car and the museum is about a 20 minute walk from Brett’s Wharf ferry terminal. Parking is available on both sites. The Museum is open by prior appointment only while the Archive can be visited without one.

Parks and Gardens

New Farm Park

New Farm Park is one of Brisbane’s oldest, grandest and largest parks and attracts more than 18000 visitors each week from all around the world. The 37-acre park is a popular spot with local families and friends who gather on weekends to relax, picnic, barbecue, kick a ball and catch up beneath the trees or in the open fields. The city-owned park often has free live music events in the rotunda and other special events throughout the year. Prior to European settlement, New Farm was covered with bush and dotted with shallow lagoons. Following the founding of the Moreton Bay convict settlement the land initially became a farm before sub-division in 1843. The parkland had a racecourse from 1846 until 1913 when Brisbane City Council acquired the land to create a park. New Farm Park opened in 1919. One edge of the park touches the Brisbane River and a riverfront boardwalk connects the park with Brisbane Central Business District by foot, or from the CityCat ferry terminal. Next to the park is the Brisbane Powerhouse, an incredible old building re-purposed as an edgy arts centre. Catch live music, comedy, theatre and more, plus the weekend farmers' markets and moonlight cinema (seasonal).

The Brisbane Riverwalk

Whether you’re walking, running or cycling, the Brisbane Riverwalk is one of the best ways to move between two of the city's most vibrant precincts. Linking trendy New Farm with the city, the suspended pathway sits above the water and provides a beautiful view across the river to Kangaroo Point and a fresh angle central business district view. The original floating pathway washed away when major flooding struck Brisbane in 2011 but reopened in 2014 with a new design built to withstand a one-in-2000-year flood. The first walk, constructed in 2003, was a well-used route and the replacement thoroughfare proved just as popular. Pedestrians and cyclists coming from New Farm can access the path from Riverview Court. On the central business district side, the walkway ends at the historic Howard Smith Wharves where it connects to the riverside boardwalk, creating an uninterrupted route all the way to the Botanic Gardens. Along the Brisbane Riverwalk the cycling and pedestrian pathways are segregated for safety. An opening span of the pathway allows vessels to access the shoreline where it would otherwise be blocked by the walkway.
