The Churn Room

The Churn Room is a unique creative hub in the historic Old Dayboro Butter Factory, featuring an artisan store, two gallery spaces and workshop area. Artisan Store The ground floor showcases high-quality handmade gifts, jewellery, wearables and home décor by local makers with a commitment to sustainable, ethical craft. More like a collective than a traditional shop, the person who greets you is one of the artisans themselves—ready to share the stories behind their work. Gallery Spaces Upstairs, the Mezzanine Gallery—with its high ceilings and industrial character—hosts regular group and solo exhibitions from artists across the region and beyond. On the ground floor, The Little Room, once a butter factory cold room, offers an intimate setting for close viewing. Exhibiting artists are often onsite, and the public is welcome at our exhibition openings, creating a welcoming gallery experience. Workshops The workshop area up-stairs connects you directly with creative skills and craftsmanship. Guest and in-house artisans teach small-group classes—ranging from jewellery and leatherwork to paper craft and painting and more—where you can learn traditional techniques and make pieces you'll be proud to use or gift. All materials are included. Location You'll find them on Dayboro's main street, through and behind Silverwood Café. Only an hour northwest of Brisbane, Dayboro is a charming country town dotted with cafés, eateries and historic features.

LRB Retreat & Gallery Experience

Galleries, Museums and Collections

Running Duck Studio

Private by design. Art by invitation. Behind the doors of LRB Retreat lies an intimate private gallery set within a beautifully characterful country residence. Here, contemporary ink works by Running Duck Studio are displayed among dark timber walls, polished floors, original architectural details and the warmth of an elegant country home. Rather than a conventional, white-walled gallery, the artworks are woven into the rooms and passageways, creating an experience that feels more like discovering a private collection than visiting an exhibition. LRB Gallery is deliberately exclusive. Four times a year, the gallery opens for a special collection release, unveiling a new body of work from Running Duck Studio. These limited openings offer collectors and art lovers the opportunity to experience each collection in an intimate setting. For guests staying at LRB Retreat, the experience becomes even more private. During your stay, the gallery is closed to outside visitors, giving you exclusive access to the gallery spaces and the collection within. Take your time. Discover the works at your own pace. Return to a favourite piece in the changing light. Let the setting become part of the experience. No crowds. No commercial gallery bustle. Just art, atmosphere and the rare pleasure of having it almost entirely to yourself. LRB Retreat & Gallery — stay privately, discover slowly.

Phoenix Sculpture Garden

Phoenix Sculpture Garden offers a quiet, contemplative experience surrounded by more than one hundred and fifty marble, onyx and bronze sculptures created by the late Australian artist Graham Radcliffe (1934-2022). Visitors move through a curated landscape designed to settle the mind and uplift the spirit. Paths lead through trees, openings and clearings where each sculpture invites reflection and a sense of connection. The atmosphere is calm. Time slows. Many visitors describe a feeling of remembering what truly matters. The combination of nature, form and stillness creates an experience that is both grounding and elevating. Phoenix Sculpture Garden is unique in Australia. Every sculpture was conceived and carved by hand over more than three decades. Rare stones from around the world were chosen for their colour, translucency and energy. The garden itself was shaped to support peace, beauty and quiet inner alignment. The entire site is dedicated to the idea of peace in the heart and peace in the world. Visitors encounter a place that cannot be replicated digitally or by machine. The collection is one of the last of its kind, representing a lifetime of work created before the era of automated carving. Phoenix Sculpture Garden offers an experience of art, landscape and presence that stays with people long after they leave.

Wild Horse Mountain Lookout

Wild Horse Mountain Lookout is the pergola on top of a hill that stands out against the skyline as one drives north. The turnoff is located 30 kilometres north of Brisbane just off the Bruce Highway near Caboolture. Named after the wild brumbies which roamed the area, Wild Horse Mountain stands 123 metres above sea level. Telstra and the Department of Primary Industries jointly provided this wonderful and informative viewing and fire tower platform. Walk the steep 700 metres paved uphill pathway and when you reach the top be rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views across Pumicestone Passage and Bribie and Moreton Islands. The forest stretches below as a sea of green and the unique shape of the Glasshouse Mountains extends across the horizon. On a clear day, you can see to Brisbane. Interpretive boards inform the visitor of the features of the surrounding area, and this is a great spot to take a rest and soak up the view before the leisurely (but steep) stroll back down to the car park.
