Standing as a profound cultural landmark along the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, True Horizons by Kent Morris transforms Eurobin Station into a space of deep reflection. A proud Barkindji man, Morris is a multi-award-winning artist whose practice explores the intersection of contemporary Australian life and the enduring strength of First Nations culture. By digitally reconstructing the built environment, he reveals the Indigenous history and sovereignty that lie beneath modern structures. This striking installation invites trail users to pause and engage with a landscape redefined through Morris's signature geometric language – a visual style that bridges contemporary design with ancient heritage, echoing the nearby peaks of Mount Buffalo. The artwork acts as a conceptual compass, encouraging visitors to consider the true horizons of the Alpine region – the enduring Indigenous narratives that have shaped this land for millennia. To deepen this connection, a multi-sensory audio tour is available via QR code, providing rich storytelling that breathes life into the artist's vision. Located at the Eurobin Station rest area, on the trail linking Myrtleford and Bright, this free public art experience is designed with accessibility in mind, offering level ground and clear pathways. The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail features 120 kilometre of sealed paths linking Wangaratta, Beechworth, Rutherglen, Bright and Myrtleford. Discover a range of new world-class art installations along the trail by Victorian artists.
