About this place
What to expect
Cobar is a proud and resilient town. Born out of tough times, the Iron Ring Monument symbolises the ability of the people to band together - it is a bond that can never be broken. To be an Iron Ringer is an honour bestowed only on those born and bred in the town. The Iron Ring monument is located next to the Cobar Miners Memorial and pays tribute to the past and to the hopeful future of a strong and united community. It makes a great photo opportunity - frame yourself in the Iron Ring and consider its powerful message.
