Museum of the Geraldton overlooks the Indian Ocean, offering an engaging exploration of the Mid West's land, sea and cultural heritage through captivating exhibits and immersive storytelling. Featuring permanent displays such as the Mid-West Gallery, Shipwrecks Gallery and the dramatic From Great Depths 3D film depicting the HMAS Sydney II wreck, the museum delivers a compelling journey through the region's maritime history, Yamaji heritage and natural environments. The museum stands out with immersive, hands-on experiences, like the daily Highlights Tour in the Shipwrecks Gallery, where visitors uncover the story of the Batavia. Set within a striking coastal landmark at Batavia Coast Marina, it combines cutting-edge multimedia with artifacts from four legendary Dutch shipwrecks: Batavia, Zuytdorp, Zeewijk, and Gilt Dragon. The museum lies steps away from the HMAS Sydney II Memorial, Geraldton Town Beach and the lively foreshore, ideal for combining cultural immersion with coastal relaxation.
