What to expect

In the water, there are often rips, channels and troughs so be sure to only swim in patrolled areas in front of Lifeguard Tower 27 and 28. The beachside parks are alive with activity, from weekend markets and fitness classes to family picnics and morning yoga. There are playgrounds, shady barbecue areas, modern amenities, wheelchair-friendly beach access and a Changing Places facility at Pratten Park. Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club overlooks the beach, with an open alfresco deck offering dining with ocean views. Just steps from the sand, you'll find Broadbeach Mall, packed with cafés, alfresco dining, and shopping.
