About this place

What to expect

The Kinkuna section of Burrum Coast National Park is a 4WD-only destination, with many of its tracks consisting of soft sand and accessible in dry conditions only. Once you're there, the opportunities are endless. Stretch out under the shade with a good book, wander the beach at sunset, cast a line, or challenge the family to a game of beach cricket. Keep an eye on the water too. Dugongs are often spotted feeding in the seagrass, while humpback whales can sometimes be seen breaching offshore during the migration season. The nearby Theodolite Creek also makes this a favourite spot for fishing enthusiasts. For those keen to explore, spend a few hours touring the wallum lowlands by four-wheel drive. Time your visit with low tide and you can even cruise along the beach, soaking up this remote coastal paradise.
