About this place

What to expect

Kayaking Coila Lake at Tuross Head, on the Eurobodalla South Coast, lets you paddle as little or as far as you like. For a longer adventure, circle the lake and paddle under the highway bridge into Coila Creek at the northern end, a trip of up to 18.5 kilometres. Stay close to the sheltered shores on windy days, as the lake can get quite choppy. The launch is easy and shallow, opposite the Tuross Sport and Recreation Centre off Hector McWilliam Drive, Tuross Head. Parking is close by, along with a barbecue and picnic area, a playground and toilets, making it a good base for a family day on the water. Dogs are prohibited in the shorebird nesting area on the northern side of Coila Lake.
