Only ten minutes off the highway but a world away, Cookies Beach Picnic Area sits within Murramarang National Park at South Durras. Spread out a picnic rug, soak up the spectacular beach views and keep an eye out for the eastern grey kangaroos that love to bask in the sun along the sand. When you're ready to stretch your legs, a short stroll to the southern headland leads to the Wasp Head geological site, one of the area's must-see highlights. Entry is free, and there is a car park and toilet facilities on site. It's an easy, relaxed stop for families, nature lovers and anyone chasing a quiet slice of the unspoilt Eurobodalla coast.
