What to expect
The distinctive rock formations of Cathedral Rocks are among Kiama's many geological treasures. Shaped by thousands of years of erosion, these dramatic volcanic formations create striking natural sculptures along the coastline. They can be admired from several vantage points, including along the scenic Kiama Coast Walk. A photographer's dream, Cathedral Rocks is particularly spectacular at sunrise. The early morning light can transform the formations and surrounding seascape, with the 30 minutes before and after sunrise often offering beautiful colour, soft light and plenty of creative opportunities.
