Rosemaree Wills came to painting through sculpture and installation, with an early fascination in the ancient Nazcan civilisation shaping her thinking about mark-making and earth. A lifetime of outdoor adventures and camping in remote parts of Australia has since become the deeper source — her current work moves with the colours and rhythms of the Australian landscape, finding something elemental in its surface.
