About this event
What to expect
Stansbury Seaside Markets are one of Southern Yorke Peninsula's biggest coastal markets, held on the foreshore at Oyster Bay during the warmer months.
Visitors notice the atmosphere before they even reach the foreshore. Cars fill the streets and people make their way down with shopping bags in hand. Then comes the sea breeze, the sound of the crowd and the smell of coffee, hot doughnuts and breakfast cooking nearby.
The size often surprises first-time visitors. More than seventy stallholders regularly fill the foreshore, with some taking double sites. Long-time traders return alongside new stallholders, which keeps the market familiar without feeling the same.
Visitors can browse fresh produce, baked goods, clothing, jewellery, homewares, plants, gifts and handmade products. Farm gate oysters are available when in season. Food stalls, local producers and live music add to the atmosphere.
The setting is a big part of what makes the market special. Stalls spread across the foreshore with Oyster Bay, the jetty and the beach close by.
Stansbury Seaside Markets are also a genuine community event. They are run by volunteers and supported by local community groups, with locals, holidaymakers and visitors from across Yorke Peninsula all mixing together.
It is busy, relaxed and unmistakably Stansbury. A small coastal town putting on a market that feels much bigger than expected.
