About this event
What to expect
Three of Australia's most electrifying artists unite for the first time.
Satu Vänskä, Elina Faskhi and Konstantin Shamray come together exclusively for Live at Yours in a thrilling program of Haydn, Ravel and Shostakovich.
Set beneath the breathtaking, mood-lit dome of Toorak Synagogue, with Gin Bar upon arrival, this is chamber music at its most intimate, powerful and alive.
Three extraordinary artists. Three masterworks. One unforgettable evening.
Haydn sparkles, dances and surprises. Ravel pulls us into a glimmering, waterlit dream. Shostakovich leaves us somewhere darker: exposed, shaken, and deeply moved.
Haydn's beloved "Gypsy" Trio is all elegance and mischief — courtly poise one moment, wild Hungarian fire the next. Ravel's Piano Trio seems to shimmer from the inside: intricate, sensual, and charged with quiet electricity. Then comes Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 1 — passionate, haunting and intensely expressive, this piece will stay with you long after the final note.
Brought vividly to life by three of Australia's most dynamic and compelling artists, this is chamber music with the voltage turned all the way up.
Program:
Joseph Haydn Piano Trio in G major, Hob. XV:25 "Gypsy"
